Known for hosting popular television game shows such as "Tic-Tac-Dough," "Gambit," and "High Rollers," Martindale was a prominent figure in American entertainment. He began his career in radio at age 17 in Jackson, Tennessee, and later transitioned to television, where he gained fame for his affable hosting style and innovative programming. Martindale also played a significant role in Elvis Presley's early career, conducting one of the first radio interviews with the young musician. Beyond television, he had a successful spoken-word hit with "Deck of Cards" in 1959. Martindale is survived by his wife, Sandy, three daughters, and several grandchildren.
